Long Beach · Harbor Area

A precision CNC machine shop serving Long Beach's port and industrial base.

A 20-to-30-minute run up the 710 from our Gardena floor, machining turned and milled parts for Long Beach's marine, oil & gas and aerospace customers since 1986. Standard production tolerances of ±.0005″ on turned diameters and ±.001″ on milled features, with critical features held to ±.0001″ where the print requires it.

CNC turning center turret and tooling

Long Beach's industrial economy runs on the port, on marine and offshore equipment suppliers, and on a long-standing aerospace and defense presence near Long Beach Airport. It is a different mix of work than the aerospace-only corridors closer to LAX, and it is one our turning department is built for: our DMG MORI lathes with Y-axis and sub-spindle capability turn valve bodies, fittings and manifold components in alloy steel and corrosion-resistant stainless in a single chucking.

From 149 E 162nd Street in Gardena, Long Beach is roughly a 20-to-30-minute drive up the 710 or across the 405, depending on time of day. That's close enough that we schedule routine local delivery for standing Long Beach accounts rather than routing every shipment through a freight carrier, and close enough for a buyer to come look at a job in process before it ships.

We hold material certifications for the corrosion-resistant alloys common in marine and oil & gas fittings, and coordinate outside heat treat, plating and NDT through approved processors when a Long Beach customer's spec calls for it — all under the same AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015 quality system that governs our aerospace and defense work.

Machining services available to Long Beach

CNC Milling

Ten vertical machining centers running prototype through production quantities, with milled features held to a standard ±.001 in and critical callouts to ±.0001 in where the print requires it.

5-Axis Machining

Five simultaneous 5-axis machining centers for impellers, contoured housings, brackets and any part where every additional setup is another chance to stack error.

Swiss Turning

Sixteen Swiss-type lathes — Citizen L12, L20 and L32, Citizen/Miyano BNX and BNA, Tsugami S205-II and B0325V-II — holding ±.0005 in on turned diameters with as-machined finishes that rarely need a secondary operation.

CNC Turning

Eight turning centers, several with Y-axis and sub-spindle, so a chucked part is turned, milled, drilled and finished on the back side without leaving the machine.

Inspection & Metrology

A climate-controlled inspection lab with a ZEISS ACCURA CMM, a Mitutoyo Crysta-Apex EX, four Keyence IM image dimension systems and a fully calibrated gage library.

Secondary Operations

Tapping, drilling, grinding, deburring, assembly and laser marking in-house, with anodize, passivation, plating, heat treat and NDT coordinated through approved sources.

Wire EDM

Wire electrical discharge machining for tight-profile forms, keyways, slots and tabs in hardened tool steel and other conductive materials that resist conventional cutting.

Sinker EDM

Sinker (ram) EDM sinks a shaped electrode into the workpiece to produce blind cavities, internal splines and forms — and to remove broken taps and drills without scrapping the part.

Common questions

Long Beach, answered plainly.

How far is RJ Enterprises from Long Beach?

Our Gardena facility is roughly a 20 to 30 minute drive from Long Beach via the 405 and 710, depending on traffic — close enough for scheduled local delivery to the Long Beach waterfront, airport and industrial corridors along Cherry and Redondo Avenues.

Do you serve the port and marine-adjacent industry around Long Beach?

Yes. We machine fittings, manifold bodies and housings for customers supplying port, marine and oil & gas equipment, in corrosion-resistant stainless and alloy steel, with full material certification.

What do Long Beach customers typically order?

A mix driven by the local industrial base: turned valve and fitting components for oil & gas and marine equipment suppliers, structural aerospace hardware tied to Long Beach Airport-area aerospace and defense contractors, and job-shop prototype and production runs for regional manufacturers.

Can you deliver directly to a Long Beach facility?

Yes, we run scheduled local delivery for standing Long Beach accounts, and can arrange same-week pickup or drop-off for urgent releases rather than defaulting to freight.
